Nest Man of India visits VIS

Mr. Rakesh Khatri, the ‘Nest Man of India,’ recently visited the school to inspire students about ecosystem conservation, aligning with UN Sustainable Development Goals SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land). Recognised by the Limca Book of Records, he has dedicated his life to saving sparrows, impacting over 14 lakh people. During the event, Mr. Khatri conducted a nest-making activity, encouraging students to protect biodiversity and adopt sustainable practices for a healthier planet.

        Excursion to Jim Corbett

        Class VI students embarked on an adventurous, educational journey at the Rocksport Camp, discovering their potential amidst the lush greenery of Jim Corbett Park. Through activities like trekking, zip-lining and a jungle safari, they gained thrilling experiences and valuable lessons about nature and wildlife. These activities boosted their knowledge, confidence and self-esteem, making it a memorable experience for all.

          Peer Learning at VIS

          Some students performed a role play ,for their peers, depicting different modes of transport, including cars, trains, airplanes, and boats. The skit not only highlighted the convenience of modern transportation but also emphasized the importance of safety measures like seat belts, helmets, and life jackets.

            VIS students win at event hosted by GGSIPU

            We are elated to share that a 3 member team of Aarav Giri, Divyam Munjal, and Rachit R Narnoli of class XI recently secured 2nd place at the Prof. Christof Heyns India School Moot Court Competition 2024, hosted by GGSIPU. Competing against over 50 teams from across the country, they were also awarded the title of Best Petitioners. They had the privilege of presenting their arguments before a distinguished panel, including Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah (Supreme Court of India), Hon’ble Justice Dinesh Sharma, Hon’ble Justice Saurabh Banerjee, and Prof. VK Ahuja.

            They are proud recipients of a cash prize of ₹10,000 . This highlights their teamwork and preparation and we are extremely proud of them.

              International Day for Biosphere Reserves Celebrations

              Our school celebrated International Day for Biosphere Reserves on 4 November 2024, with activities focused on environmental conservation and biodiversity. Students made nests, enjoyed storytelling with toys and discussed ecosystems and the factors leading to their degradation. The day ended with an interactive worksheet and a game on food chains and food webs, reinforcing the importance of the day through play.

                Celebrating Diwali with Joy and Togetherness
                Students from classes VIII to XI celebrated Diwali with elderly residents at a local old age home, fostering connections across generations. They created vibrant rangoli, lit diyas and shared sweets. Engaging in lively activities with the elders brought joy to everyone, promoting social cohesion.
                 
                This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 10: Reduced Inequalities, as it encourages intergenerational interaction and support, bridging the gap between youth and the elderly while fostering inclusivity.
