Leaders become great not because of their power but because of their ability to empower others.  With this motto, the Investiture Ceremony was held on May 17, 2019 to form the STUDENT COUNCIL for the session 2019-20.  The Head Boy Nobil Gautam, the Head Girl Pranjal Sachdeva, Deputy Head Girl Karshna Aggarwal and the promising members of all the five houses Value, Integrity, Strength, Truth and Valour took a pledge to uphold the school’s ethics and philosophy.  The Director and Founder Principal, Ms. Mrinalini Kaura, Vice Principal, Dr. Manisha Sharma and HM Middle Wing, along with Senior Wing Coordinators Ms. Jasmine Kaur Anand and Ms. Arutchudar and the House Masters conferred the badges to the proud members of the Student Council.

    Poet in the Making

    Vatsala Gupta won the prize for the ‘Poetry out Loud’ competition held at AFGJI on May 9, 2019.  The competition was about self-composed poetry recitation.  The participants were to read the works of Swami Vivekananda and write their own poems inspired by it.

    In Vatsala’s poem, titled ‘Heaven’ she talks about the way religion has affected social outlook and the hypocricy of the priests.

        Career Options in the Field of Design

        With changing times, many students are entering into diversified fields of design - clothing, textile, jewellery, interiors, graphics, animation, video game ! To educate the children, an interactive counselling session was conducted by Trendz Academy for the students of grade XII on 8.05.2018 about various career options available in the field of design, institutes and entrance procedure.  The aim was to equip the students in making sagacious career choices by enabling them to know their creative strengths and providing Channels to harvest them optimally. 

        It was indeed an informative session.

          Orientation class I and II

           

          "A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is parent in school and the child is the centre of our universe "
          With the aim to familiarise the parents ,'As partners in progress ' an Orientation programme was conducted for the class 1 parents session 2019-20. They were addressed by Ms.Sanjum Sethi Incharge Class I and II.And were apprised with curriculum,rules and regulations,our teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities by the school director Ms.Mrinalini Kaura.
          Parents were made to witness a typical child's day @school wherein they participated enthusiastically in ice breaking and thematic activities. Concept related activities were taken to give parents a glimpse as how we at VIS intent our actions.
          It was concluded by vote of thanks.

            Orientation Programme for Parents of Class IX

            The School Director, Mrs. Mrinalini Kaura conducted an Orientation for the parents of class IX on May 4, 2019.  The main aim of the workshop was to familiarise the parents with the changes in the Class IX curriculum thereby gearing the students for Class X.  She spoke about the salient features of the system of Evaluation in the Board Exam.  Director Ma’am further emphasised on the marks bifurcation for theory paper and internal assessment in the Board Exam.  The criteria for internal assessment was also explained.  It was a very informative workshop which left parents feeling very empowered to guide their wards to face the challenges of Board Exam.

              An Inter-House mime act competition was held on May 3, 2019 for Classes                   IX-X in the auditorium.  The topic given was ‘Dignity of Labour.’ All the students exhibited their theatrical skills brilliantly and the act was appreciated by everyone.

                An Inter-House English Debate Competition was held on 26 April 2019 for Classes IX-X in the auditorium.  The topic for the debate was ‘Today’s children are fashion victims.’  All the  students spoke very well and put forth their view points beautifully.

                  Each ‘Drop’ Counts

                  Aqua Foundation is a society working for the cause of information dissemination and knowledge creation towards water and environment. With the support of Ministry of Earth Sciences, Aqua Foundation every year conducts Earth Day on April 22. The theme of Earth Day this year is – Protect our Species.  The students of Venkateshwar International School from classes I to X participated enthusiastically in a Painting Competition depicting the environment-its degradation and imbalance emphasising on the need to nurse the ailing mother earth.

                    Beat the Blues

                    Mr. Ashish Garg a renowed counsellor from Pratham Organisation conducted a workshop on ‘Time and Stress Management’ for the student of Class XI-XII.  He emphasised upon judicious utilisation of time and organised approach to handle stress.  He shared quite practical and novel ideas to move ahead in life and desire the best outcome.  It was a really insightful session.
