Cyber Bullying Session

Students will inevitably face challenges on the internet. However, they can always take steps to reduce their exposure to risk and minimise harm, while maximising the fun and utilising   the opportunities that the internet provides. Hence with the objective of spreading awareness and sensitising the students, the school counsellor, Ms. Sana Kapur along with the computer teacher, Ms. Preeti Adhikari conducted sessions with the students of classes VI - VIII on the topic ‘Cyber Bullying.’

The teacher facilitators gave tips to the students about how to be cyber secure. The students were also briefed about the ‘MOMO challenge’ and the consequences of playing such games. The aim of the session was to empower the children to proactively spot cyber issues and help troubleshoot them.

    The auspicious festival of Dussehra was celebrated with gaiety by the Primary Wing through a special assembly conducted by the students of Class III. The stage was a vibrant riot of colours with children dressed as mythological characters, Ram, Lakshman, Sita, the demon king, Ravana,  Hanuman, to name a few. A power packed scene enactment, melodious song recital and an energetic dance performance added to the festive fervour and  left the audience spellbound. The modern day significance of Dussehra was the highlight of the assembly wherein the students were urged to strive and help eradicate social and environmental evils like hatred, violence, corruption, pollution, filth and many others.

      Truth Always Prevails…….

      To celebrate the spirit of victory of good over evil, the students of class II Hilltop and Rockview presented a captivating assembly on October 18, 2018. To portray the essence of celebrating Dussehra, students enacted a skit depicting the life of Lord Rama.It culminated with a mesmerising dance performance showcasing the divine Goddess Durga defeating the Demon Mahishasur.

      Each student and teacher wrote a vice on a small chit, that they want to get rid of, which was burnt with the effigy of Ravana.

        World Mental Health Day

        The mind needs to be cared for as much as the body, because we need to remember that one cannot stay healthy without a balance between the two. Much can be done to help build mental resilience from an early age so as to help prevent mental distress among children and adolescents. Prevention begins with being aware of and understanding the importance of mental health. Keeping this in mind, students of primary and middle wing observed the ‘World Mental Health Day’ on 10 October 2018. They presented an assembly to raise awareness among the students for the upkeep of their mental wellbeing. The children gave tips to their peers in order to look after their health. The celebration was indeed a great learning experience for all the attendees.

          International Girl Child Day

          The students of class VII Hilltop presented an assembly to celebrate the ‘International Day of Girl Child’ on 11 October 2018. The focus was on the need to protect the girl child and their empowerment. The Students were dressed as eminent women achievers such as Rani Laxmi Bai, Indira Gandhi, Rosa Parks, Malala Yousafzai, Marie Curie and Sarojini Naidu. Their act left a lasting impression on the audience. Celebration of this day aptly highlights the importance of girls and the dire need to nurture and respect them. The efforts of the participants and their class teacher, Ms. Meena Rakhi were appreciated by all.
