To mark the spirit of Indian Tourism, “Paryatan Parv”, Venkateshwar International School organised a quiz and painting competition for the students of classes VI-VIII on 24th and 25th October 2017.  All the students participated enthusiastically and made the programme successful.

    VIS students participated in an Annual International Film Festival “We Care” devoted to films on disability held at the Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication, Dwarka campus from 10 to 12 October 2017.  Two students from our school won awards for this painting and photography competition.  Apoorva Singh of class IX Rockview bagged the 3rd place and Yatin Seth of class XI Daisydale received the 1st position.  The guest of honour, Professor Shri Rajeev Kumar Panaa gave away the prizes.

      THE WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP

      The Regional round of WSC was recently held in Maxfort School, Dwarka on 13 and 14 October 2017. The two days event included an overall participation of around 400 participants from reputed schools of Delhi and NCR. The second day’s event took place in Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Auditorium in Delhi Cantt.

      RESULT: 63 students of VIS participated. They bagged 29 gold and 98 silver    medals.

      Anushka Bohra (XII) was selected to speak in the debate showcase and Sheuli Banerjee (IX) as one of the jury adjudicators.

      Out of the 21 teams which participated, 18 teams have qualified for the global round.

        World Mental Health day

        On 10 October 2017, students of VI Hilltop conducted the morning assembly. The theme of the assembly was -The Importance of Confidently Facing Challenges in Life. The theme was in keeping with the World Mental Health day celebration.

        The students spoke eloquently about how challenges are like stumbling blocks in one’s life and how they help one to grow into a better person. They narrated an inspirational story and recited a poem with emphasis on how one should confidently face unexpected challenges in life and overcome them positively.

          Yet again, at the SGMUN Conclave 2017, held at Indian Institute of Mass Communication, our students did us proud by winning the following awards.

          ·        Medhansh Bhardwaj – Deputy Moderator with cash prize of Rs.4100/-

          ·        Aayush Mall – Best Photographer with cash prize of Rs.2000/-

          ·        Khushi Malhotra – High Commendation with cash prize of Rs.2000/-

          ·        Ananya Vijay, Arjun Sethi, Nobil Gautam, Siddhant Singh and Ishant Singh won Special Mention.

            A special assembly on ‘Hindi Diwas’ was conducted by the Hindi Department, Primary Wing to propagate the mother tongue, Hindi. The highlights of the assembly were the Hasya Kavi Sammelan, Skit and a Quiz programme. The important message of respecting our mother tongue and understanding its importance was conveyed to the students. The assembly concluded with Headmistress, Primary Wing, Mrs. Anuradha Kumar’s address who also gave away prizes to the winners of the Hindi Quiz.

              Inter-house character parade was organized in VIS on 13th October 2017. The students of class XI-XII participated in the event where houses were asked to portray the lives and accomplishments of various famous scientists who have changed our world. The audience really enjoyed the portrayal of these brilliant minds and also gathered an insight into their personal lives.

                The message of ‘Victory of Good over Evil’ was reiterated by the students of class III SD through a special assembly on ‘Dussehra’ on 27 September’ 17. The life of Rama during his days in exile was depicted beautifully through a Skit. The students also showcased the Dussehra celebrations across various states of India.  The assembly concluded with a mesmerizing dance presentation by the students.
